Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dental team. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Duties Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed. Record patient medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant information accurately. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Manage infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Schedule appointments and assist with administrative tasks as needed, including managing patient records using dental software systems like Dentrix Ascend. Support pediatric dentistry efforts by providing compassionate care to young patients. Stay updated on dental terminology and procedures to assist effectively during treatments. Requirements Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is mandatory Knowledge of infection control practices in a dental setting is essential. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry techniques is a plus. Ability to take vital signs and understand medical terminology related to dentistry. Proficiency in using dental software systems such as Dentrix Ascend is advantageous. Strong understanding of dental terminology and HIPAA regulations is required. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members. A proactive attitude towards learning new skills and adapting to various tasks within the practice.
