In this energetic role, you will support dentists by preparing treatment areas, assisting during procedures, and ensuring patients feel comfortable and cared for. Your expertise in dental procedures, infection control, and patient communication will help create a positive experience for every patient. Duties Prepare treatment rooms with sterilized instruments, materials, and supplies for various dental procedures. Assist dentists chairside during examinations, restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced equipment like 3D scanners and medical imaging tools while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA and infection control protocols. Manage patient records efficiently using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, dental terminology, and treatment plans. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care. Provide excellent customer service as a dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, answering queries, and guiding patients through their visit. Maintain aseptic techniques and infection control standards to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Support general dentistry procedures with knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and dental assisting best practices in pediatrics and adult care. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially with pediatric dentistry or general dentistry practices. Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, medical coding, and handling medical records is essential. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic or Dentrix enhances workflow efficiency. Knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic technique, and anatomy is required to ensure patient safety. Experience operating dental equipment like X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging devices is advantageous. Strong understanding of dental terminology along with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages including pediatrics.
