You will support dentists by preparing treatment areas, assisting during procedures, and ensuring a smooth, efficient workflow. Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are ready for procedures. Assist dentists during a variety of treatments including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced equipment such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools, ensuring proper technique and patient safety. Manage patient records efficiently within EMR systems, maintaining HIPAA compliance and confidentiality at all times. Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures to ensure a positive experience. Support dental reception duties by scheduling appointments, confirming insurance information, and managing medical documentation with precision. Adhere strictly to infection control protocols using aseptic techniques and maintain a clean, safe environment in accordance with OSHA standards. Assist providers with documentation for record keeping. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and answer any questions regarding procedures or dental terminology. Experience Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is Proficiency in dental assisting tasks including chairside assisting and taking X-rays with proper infection control techniques. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic or other medical records platforms is a plus. Knowledge of anatomy related to oral structures and medical terminology relevant to dentistry and pediatrics. Understanding of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures in a clinical environment. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail and excellent patient care standards. Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members including dental receptionists and other healthcare professionals.
