Dental Assistant

As a Dental Assistant, you will assist with clinical procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and safety. Duties Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments using aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment. Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques. Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging such as 3D scans, ensuring accurate positioning and patient comfort. Manage patient records by updating medical documentation, medical coding, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for confidentiality. Collect vital signs and medical history information to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Provide chairside assistance by handing instruments, suctioning, and managing dental terminology for effective communication. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phones as a dental receptionist, and maintaining electronic health records using EMR systems like Dentrix or Epic. Experience Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in dental assisting procedures. Knowledge of infection control protocols, sterilization processes, and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a safe clinical setting. Skilled in operating dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and medical imaging devices. Familiarity with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing patient records and scheduling. Understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology to communicate effectively within the team. Experience supporting pediatric dentistry or working with children is a plus. Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail.
