Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Dental Sedation Assistant to join our team at our surgery center in Granger. The ideal candidate will have prior dental assisting experience and be confident supporting sedation procedures while ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout treatment.
Compensation:
$20 - $25 hourlyResponsibilities:
Assist the dentist during sedation procedures (oral, IV, or nitrous oxide) Monitor patients' vital signs before, during, and after sedation Prepare and maintain sedation equipment and operatory rooms Review patient medical histories and sedation consent forms Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulations Provide post-operative care instructions to patients Maintain accurate and detailed patient records Support general dental assisting duties as neededQualifications:
Required:
Previous dental assisting experience (minimum 1 year preferred) Certification in Dental Assisting (CDA/RDA preferred, depending on state requirements) Experience with sedation dentistry strongly preferred Current CPR/BLS certification (ACLS a plus) Knowledge of infection control and safety standards Strong attention to detail and ability to stay calm under pressure Excellent communication and patient care skills Preferred Skills Experience with IV sedation monitoring Familiarity with dental software systems Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment Compassionate approach to patients with dental anxiety About Company Why Michiana Smiles?
