Job Description
Job Summary Looking to hire a cross trained Dental receptionist with some experience in dental assisting, sterilization and certified to take x-rays. This energetic position combines clinical support with front desk responsibilities, offering a rewarding opportunity to contribute to patients' oral health and overall experience. You will manage patient intake, assist with dental procedures, handle administrative tasks, and maintain accurate medical records—all while fostering a welcoming environment for patients and staff alike. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify insurance coverage, and schedule appointments using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Assist dentists during procedures by preparing instruments, taking x-rays, and ensuring patient comfort. Manage patient records efficiently within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems like Meditech, Epic, or eClinicalWorks, ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality. Perform administrative duties including answering multi-line phone systems, managing front desk operations, filing medical records, and handling medical billing and coding Verify insurance benefits, process claims accurately, and follow up on outstanding payments to support medical collection efforts. Maintain clinic cleanliness and sterilization protocols while adhering to health information management standards. Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries with professionalism and courtesy while demonstrating strong phone etiquette and clerical skills. Experience Prior clinic or dental office experience is highly preferred, with familiarity in dental terminology and office management. Proven ability to operate EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar platforms; experience with Meditech or Athenahealth is a plus. Strong knowledge of medical coding , medical billing procedures, insurance verification processes, and documentation review. Experience working in hospital or healthcare environments is advantageous; familiarity with HIPAA regulations is essential. Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced dental setting while maintaining attention to detail.
