Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) Job Description This role is a key part of delivering an excellent patient experience and supporting clinical efficiency. The EFDA assists with patient flow, clinical procedures, and expanded function responsibilities while helping maintain a clean, organized, and compliant clinical environment. You will work directly with Dr. Weil, a highly skilled and respected dentist known for clinical excellence and quality patient care. Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary Health, vision, and employer paid life insurance Paid holidays Paid vacation and personal days Dental benefits 401(k) with company matc Continuing education opportunities Uniform reimbursement Consistent full time schedule with a 3 day weekend Job Description & Responsibilities Assist the dentist during clinical procedures Prepare and break down treatment rooms Escort patients and help them feel comfortable throughout treatment Finish and polish composite restorations and perform expanded functions as permitted Take dental radiographs Prepare and sterilize instruments in accordance with OSHA and CDC guidelines Send and track lab cases Provide post treatment instructions and patient education Support patient education related to oral health Assist with additional clinical or office duties as directed
Requirements:
EFDA certification required (or eligibility based on state regulations) Experience assisting with clinical dental procedure Ability to perform expanded functions permitted by state law Knowledge of dental radiography procedures Understanding of infection control standards (OSHA and CDC) Strong teamwork and communication skills Professional and positive attitude with patients and team member Strong attention to detail and organization Dependable and motivated with a strong work ethic Desire for long term growth within a practice
