The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting, with a passion for providing exceptional patient care and supporting clinical operations. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth workflow within the dental practice, assisting with patient procedures, maintaining infection control standards, and managing medical documentation. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment committed to oral health excellence. Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental materials, and ensuring all necessary supplies are available for procedures. Assist dentists during various treatments, including chairside support for procedures such as restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Take and develop dental X-rays and utilize advanced imaging tools such as 3D scanners to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and data security. Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures. Maintain strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a sterile environment. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions while addressing their questions professionally. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation, and assisting the dental receptionist when needed. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside support, medical imaging, and X-ray operation. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Experience with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for accurate record-keeping and documentation. Familiarity with infection control standards aligned with OSHA guidelines to ensure safety within the clinic environment. Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments including vital signs monitoring. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience working with pediatric patients is highly desirable. Competence in handling specialized procedures across general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and other specialties as needed. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and educate patients about their oral health needs.
