Dental Assistant

Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with sterilized instruments, dental materials, and supplies, adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Assist dentists during various procedures including root canals and root surgeries. Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging systems such as X-ray sensors and 3D scanners, ensuring patient safety and comfort. Manage patient records accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems like PBS Endo and Dexis while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform vital signs assessments and document medical history to support comprehensive patient care. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and functioning as a dental receptionist when needed. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care instructions, and dental terminology to enhance their understanding of procedures. Qualifications Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures is preferred but not required as we do offer on the job training. Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting and infection control practices is preferred but not required. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry is preferred but not required. Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging tools safely is preferred but not required. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times. Certification in CPR or BLS is preferred; additional certifications in endodontics are a plus.
