In this role, you will support our dentists in delivering comprehensive dental treatment, assist with complex procedures, and ensure a smooth, efficient workflow. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will contribute to creating a welcoming environment for patients of all age. This position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in a fast-paced, patient-centered practice committed to excellence. We are an out-of-network general dentistry office with short hours on Fridays. Duties Arrive 15-30min prior to morning huddle and prepare for the day. Prepare (stock, set up, clean/turn over) treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following infection control protocols. Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including restorations, cosmetic dentistry, some endodontics, prosthodontics, geriatric dentistry and some pediatric dentistry. Take dental radiographs (X-rays) and intraoral 3D scans, ensuring proper technique and patient safety. Utilize Dentrix and Dexis dental computer programs, maintaining HIPAA compliance at all times. Monitor patient comfort throughout procedures. Assist geriatric patients into and out of the dental chair. Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry to optimize efficiency and patient experience. Fabricate temporary crowns. Support the front desk by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and managing patient flow effectively, as needed. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment, adhering to infection control standards. This includes general office cleaning duties/chores, in addition to cleaning patient operatories and the dental lab. Keep track of inventory and create ordering lists. Track deliveries and packing slips. In-house lab work includes utilizing the 3D printer, pouring models, making retainers and bleach trays, and managing cases coming/going from external labs. Maintain proper communication with the entire dental team throughout the day and help out where needed. Interact professionally with patients. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is required, with familiarity in general dentistry procedures. A strong grasp of dental terminology and tooth numbers is important. Prior experience with Dentrix and Dexis is a plus, but not required, though dental radiation certification is required. Coronal polishing certification is a plus, but not required. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members is imperative. Customer service experience is a plus, but not required.
