Job Description
Little Bee Pediatric Dentistry is a pediatric dental office committed to providing compassionate, high-level dental care to our patients and families. We want to create a warm, welcoming environment where children will feel comfortable and have fun! We seek to provide a tailored approach to meet each child's needs, often thinking creatively to provide positive outcomes for our patients and their families. We are a start-up practice that is growing quickly, and looking for a dental assistant (EDDA) to join our team. We are searching for someone who is compassionate, dedicated, patient, and enjoys working with children. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, have excellent communication skills, and be a strong team player.
Responsibilities:
- Sterilizing instruments, preparing treatment rooms
- Taking radiographs, coronal polishing, fluoride application, placing sealants
- Educating patients and families about oral hygiene, home care, and nutritional counseling
- Managing patient comfort
- Fitting bands, taking impressions
- Assisting the doctor chairside with in-office dental procedures, oral sedation, and hospital dentistry
- Traveling to Manning Children's Hospital in New Orleans for Hospital cases (1-2x/month)
Requirements:
- Louisiana State Board of Dentistry EDDA certification
- X-ray certification
- CPR/BLS
- Minimum 1 year of dental assisting experience
- Knowledge of pediatric dental procedures, instruments, terminology
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Cooperative, team-oriented mindset
- Enjoy working with children and making them feel comfortable
- Building positive relationships with the families of our practice
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
- Able to work full time. Our schedule is 4 days a week, alternating Monday-Thursday and Tuesday-Friday
- Bilingual English/Spanish speaking would be a strong asset for the position
