Dental Assistant/Hygiene Assistant

```Duties```

• Assist the dentist during dental procedures
• Prepare treatment rooms and instruments for dental procedures
• Take and develop dental X-rays
• Provide chairside assistance to the dentist
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care
• Maintain accurate patient records and update medical histories
• Schedule appointments and manage patient flow
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment
• Perform basic laboratory tasks, such as pouring models and fabricating temporary crowns ```Skills```
• Dental receptionist skills, including appointment scheduling and managing patient flow
• Proficiency in dental assisting techniques, such as four-handed dentistry and instrument transfer
• Experience with taking and developing dental X-rays
• Knowledge of pediatric dentistry procedures and techniques
• Familiarity with medical terminology related to dentistry
• Understanding of aseptic technique and infection control protocols
• Experience with computer-assisted design (CAD) software for creating dental restorations
• Knowledge of medical coding for billing purposes
• Ability to take vital signs, such as blood pressure and pulse rate
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality
