Job Description

Job Overview Join our team as a Dental Assistant, where your enthusiasm and expertise will directly enhance patient care and clinic efficiency. In this vital role, you will support dentists during a variety of procedures, ensure a smooth patient flow, and uphold the highest standards of infection control and safety. Duties Assist dentists chairside during procedures such as restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric treatments, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared and sterilized according to aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental X-rays while maintaining proper radiation safety protocols. Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for confidentiality. Support infection control procedures by sterilizing instruments, disinfecting operatories, and adhering to strict aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination. Gather vital signs and medical history information from patients to assist in comprehensive treatment planning. Provide excellent dental reception services by scheduling appointments, updating medical documentation, and managing patient inquiries with professionalism. Collaborate with the dental team in four-handed dentistry practices to enhance efficiency during procedures while maintaining optimal patient comfort. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and understanding dental terminology. Experience working with EMR systems such as Dentrix, or Epic for accurate documentation of medical records and coding. Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, anatomy knowledge related to oral structures, and proper use of medical imaging equipment. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and providing compassionate care tailored to children's needs. Ability to operate advanced dental technology including digital X-ray machines confidently. Strong organizational skills for managing medical records, order supplies, and maintaining a clean clinical environment. Excellent communication skills for collaborating effectively with the dental team and engaging with patients of all ages.
