In this energetic role, you will provide exceptional chairside assistance, ensuring smooth and efficient patient care for individuals undergoing orthodontic treatment. Your expertise will help create confident smiles while maintaining a welcoming, organized, and sterile environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in pediatric dentistry, general dentistry, and specialized orthodontic procedures within a fast-paced dental clinic setting. Duties Assist orthodontists during patient examinations, adjustments, and procedures using advanced dental equipment such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are ready for each appointment, adhering to strict infection control and aseptic techniques Take and develop dental X-rays while following HIPAA guidelines for patient privacy and confidentiality Manage patient records efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic to document treatment plans, medical histories, and procedural notes Educate patients on orthodontic care, including appliance maintenance, oral hygiene practices, and dietary restrictions Support front desk operations by greeting patients as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments, and verifying insurance information Ensure accurate medical documentation and coding for procedures related to pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and other dental specialties Experience Previous experience working in a dental clinic environment with exposure to general dentistry or orthodontics is highly preferred Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting and vital signs measurement Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques Experience operating dental technology such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and medical imaging equipment Knowledge of EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic or similar platforms is a plus Understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical coding standards for accurate documentation Background in pediatric dentistry or pediatrics-related roles is advantageous but not required Join us to be part of a vibrant team dedicated to transforming smiles!
