In this role, you will be the vital link between patients and the orthodontic practice, providing exceptional chairside assistance while guiding patients through their treatment plans with enthusiasm and clarity. Your energetic approach will help create a welcoming environment, ensuring patients feel confident and informed about their orthodontic journey. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to combine clinical expertise with patient communication, fostering positive experiences from consultation to completion. Responsibilities Assist orthodontists during procedures such as bracket placement, wire adjustments, and appliance fittings, utilizing aseptic techniques and maintaining infection control standards. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and digital equipment including 3D scanners and medical imaging tools. Take and develop X-rays, ensuring proper technique and patient safety in accordance with HIPAA regulations and dental imaging protocols. Educate patients on orthodontic care routines, appliance maintenance, and oral hygiene practices to promote optimal results. Facilitate communication between patients and the treatment team as a dedicated treatment coordinator, addressing questions about procedures, insurance coverage, or financial arrangements. Support the dental receptionist duties by managing patient flow, verifying insurance information, and maintaining organized medical records in compliance with HIPAA standards. Conduct vital signs assessments when necessary and assist in pediatric dentistry procedures to ensure comfort and safety for young patients. Collaborate with the team on infection control protocols, ensuring aseptic technique is upheld throughout all clinical activities. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting for orthodontics, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry procedures. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical coding, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Experience with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for efficient documentation and record keeping. Familiarity with digital imaging technology including X-ray machines and 3D scanners used in modern orthodontic practices. Ability to communicate effectively with pediatric patients and their families while demonstrating patience and empathy. Knowledge of infection control standards and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment. Excellent organizational skills to manage appointments, treatment plans, insurance processing, and medical records seamlessly.
