In this role, you will support the delivery of exceptional pediatric and orthodontic care by assisting the dentist with chairside procedures, managing patient flow, and ensuring a clean, organized environment. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will contribute to building lasting relationships with families while maintaining the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in pediatric dentistry, orthodontics, and dental assisting within a supportive team environment. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies for pediatric and orthodontic procedures Assist the dentist during various treatments including X-ray imaging, vital signs measurement, and dental examinations Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations Take high-quality medical imaging including X-rays and 3D scans while following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols Educate young patients and their guardians on oral hygiene practices, treatment procedures, and post-care instructions in a friendly manner Support four-handed dentistry by efficiently passing instruments and maintaining a smooth workflow during procedures Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, updating medical documentation, and assisting the dental receptionist as needed Skills Proficiency with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing patient information and medical records Strong knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles, dental terminology, and anatomy relevant to children's oral health Experience with dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, infection control, aseptic technique, and taking X-rays or other medical imaging Familiarity with orthodontic procedures such as appliance placement or adjustments in an orthodontic setting Ability to accurately perform vital signs measurement and understand medical coding for pediatric cases Knowledge of general dentistry practices along with specialties like prosthodontics or endodontics is a plus Excellent communication skills to educate patients' families effectively while demonstrating professionalism and empathy This role is ideal for motivated individuals passionate about pediatric dentistry and orthodontics who thrive in fast-paced environments.
