Dental Assistant Park West Health System - 2.7 Baltimore, MD Job Details Full-time $22 - $24 an hour 20 hours ago Qualifications BLS Certification First aid Operating medical imaging equipment Full Job Description Position Summary The Dental Assistant plays a vital role in supporting our busy dental practice by preparing patients for dental procedures, assisting dentists and hygienists during treatments, and ensuring a clean, safe and organized clinical environment. This position is responsible for sterilizing instruments, setting up treatment rooms, exposing and processing dental x-rays, and maintaining accurate patient records. Essential Functions Prepare patients for dental examinations and procedures. Assist dentists during treatments and respond to dental or medical emergencies when necessary. Assist dental hygienists with procedures as needed. Sterilize and disinfect instruments, set up trays, and ensure operatory readiness. Expose and process dental x-rays while maintaining x-ray equipment. Record treatment information and update patient dental and medical histories in records accurately. Provide postoperative care instructions and educate patients on oral hygiene and plaque control. Take preliminary impressions for study casts and fabricate temporary restorations as directed. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment compliant with infection control protocols. Collaborate with the care team to provide excellent patient care and support clinic efficiency. Perform additional duties as assigned to support the dental team and overall patient experience. Education High school diploma or GED. Graduate of an accredited dental assisting program Licensure Dental x-ray certification required Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or Dental Assistant Qualified in General Duties (QDA) preferred Training and Experience Prior experience as a dental assistant preferred.
