Responsible for assisting the Dentist in the clinical treatment of patients
Patient Management Duties:
Set up treatment rooms for patients then seat them for procedures Escort and seat patients in treatment rooms Show genuine care and concern and help patients feel comfortable Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays) and be X-Ray certified Be licensed for expanded duties and perform expanded functions and other tasks as assigned by the dentist Review patient's medical histories Serve as an infection control officer by preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment Prepare and take impression molds for crowns and nightguards Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures, such as the placement of a restoration or a crown Teach patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health; (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling) Perform office tasks on office computers and utilize EagleSoft practice management software Communicate with patients and suppliers (e.g., scheduling appointments and ordering supplies) Help to provide direct patient care in all dental specialties including pediatric dentistry, periodontics, some endodontics, and oral surgery Display positive demeanor towards all patients and fellow staff members Display a professional positive attitude in the workplace Maintain a professional appearance and wear appropriate dental attire to perform one's job duties
Treatment Room Management and Sterilization:
Keep dental units ready, stocked and clean Oversee cleanliness of the treatment room according to sterilization procedures Disinfect treatment rooms according to OSHA regulations Sterilize all instruments and handpieces according to OSHA regulations Keep trays, instruments and treatment room drawers organized Promptly send out and monitor all dental laboratory cases Implement the preventative maintenance/cleaning schedule for dental equipment Maintain dental office emergency kits and nitrous and oxygen tanks
Inventory & Supplies Management:
Monitor inventory and order dental office supplies as needed Ensure that treatment rooms are stocked with proper supplies at all times
Personal and Social Skills:
Great social skills and caring nature for our patients Excellent communication skills with our dentists and fellow team members

$24.00 - $29.00 per hour
