Orthodontic Clinical Assistant

Job Summary Our office is searching for a full-time or part-time trained orthodontic clinical assistant OR someone who is interested in becoming an orthodontic clinical assistant. Past employment in an orthodontic or dental office a plus but we are willing to train the right person. We are looking for someone who is motivated to learn and expand their skills. We have two offices in Anne Arundel County, one in Edgewater and the other in Crofton. We offer benefits but do not offer health insurance. Send us your resume and we hope to speak with you soon! Responsibilities Assist orthodontists during exams, adjustments, and procedures with precision and efficiency, utilizing skills in four-handed dentistry to optimize patient comfort and workflow Prepare treatment areas with necessary instruments, materials, and dental supplies, ensuring aseptic techniques and infection control standards are maintained at all times Take and develop dental X-rays, including panoramic and iTero digical scans, while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality Manage electronic medical records using EMR system, accurately documenting treatment notes, medical history, vital signs, and medical/dental documentation Assist with orthodontic procedures by understanding ortho. specific dental terminology and procedures to ensure gentle care for all patients Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment is highly preferred, especially in general dentistry or orthodontics Familiarity with dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, infection control practices, aseptic technique, and dental terminology Understanding of orthodontic principles and experience working with patients is beneficial Certification in X-ray technology or radiography highly desirable to perform diagnostic imaging safely but we are willing to train the right person. Pay:

$18.00 - $30.00 per hour
