Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting procedures, a passion for patient care, and proficiency with various dental software and clinical techniques. As a Dental Assistant, you will support dentists in delivering high-quality dental treatments while ensuring a comfortable and efficient experience for patients. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring compliance with infection control protocols using aseptic techniques. Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing chairside support with precision and care. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray images), ensuring proper technique and patient safety in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) , ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of medical documentation and records. Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and explain dental terminology clearly to enhance understanding. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist, managing medical coding for billing purposes, and maintaining organized medical records. Operate advanced imaging equipment including 3D scanners when necessary for comprehensive diagnostics. Uphold strict infection control standards to maintain a safe clinical environment aligned with OSHA guidelines. Collaborate effectively within a team practicing four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize workflow efficiency. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is required, with demonstrated proficiency in dental assisting duties across general dentistry and specialized fields such as prosthodontics or endodontics. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards ensures confidentiality and compliance at all times. Experience with X-ray procedures, medical imaging technology including 3D scanners, and infection control practices is highly desirable. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge related to oral structures, and proficiency with medical coding enhances your ability to support clinical operations effectively.
Pay:
$25.00 - $28.00 per hour
