Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting, with a focus on providing exceptional patient care and supporting the clinical operations of the practice. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth workflow, maintaining high standards of infection control, and delivering a positive experience for our patients. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, professional environment that values precision, compassion, and teamwork. Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly. Assist dentists during various procedures including prosthodontic, orthodontic, endo, and oral surgery by handing instruments, managing materials, and providing chairside support to enhance efficiency. Take dental X-rays, ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain accurate documentation and update patient records using Dentrix. Follow strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination and ensure patient safety. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality at all times. Requirements Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant within a dental clinic environment, preferably with exposure to general dentistry and specialty areas such as prosthodontics or endodontics. Proficiency in Dentrix, for managing dental records and documentation. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques essential for clinical excellence. Ability to operate dental radiography equipment safely for X-ray procedures; familiarity with 3D scanners is a plus. Experience with chairside assisting techniques such as four-handed dentistry and assisting with pediatric dentistry cases. Familiarity with medical documentation standards including HIPAA compliance to ensure confidentiality of patient information. Excellent communication skills combined with organizational abilities to coordinate between clinical staff and patients effectively. Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred; ongoing professional development in dental assisting is encouraged. $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
