Job Description

Job Overview Southern Maryland Orthodontic Studio is seeking a motivated, compassionate, and detail-oriented Certified Orthodontic Assistant to join our growing team. We are a modern, patient-centered orthodontic practice committed to providing exceptional clinical care and an outstanding patient experience. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about orthodontics, enjoys working with patients of all ages, and thrives in a collaborative team environment. We are looking for someone who is dependable, professional, and excited about the opportunity to grow with a new and expanding orthodontic practice. This position offers approximately 24-32 hours per week, competitive compensation, paid holidays, healthcare assistance, and the opportunity to become an integral member of our team. Duties & Responsibilities Assist the orthodontist during patient treatment procedures Take digital scans, photographs, and radiographs Place and remove archwires, ligatures, separators, and orthodontic appliances as permitted by Maryland regulations Educate patients on oral hygiene, appliance care, and treatment instructions Prepare treatment rooms and maintain clinical supplies Sterilize instruments and ensure compliance with infection control protocols Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation Monitor patient comfort and provide exceptional customer service Assist with patient flow to ensure efficient clinical operations Perform laboratory tasks related to orthodontic appliances as needed Collaborate with team members to create a positive patient experience Maintain a professional, organized, and team-oriented work environment Qualifications Maryland Certified Orthodontic Assistant certification required Orthodontic assisting experience preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Positive attitude and commitment to outstanding patient care Experience with digital scanning technology and orthodontic software is a plus Benefits Competitive compensation based on experience Paid holidays Healthcare assistance program Continuing education opportunities Professional growth and advancement opportunities Supportive and team-oriented work environment Schedule Approximately 24-32 hours per week Office currently open 2-3 clinical days per week Consistent schedule with opportunity for growth as the practice expands

$28.00 - $35.00 per hour
