As an energetic and detail-oriented professional, you will assist dentists during procedures, manage patient comfort, and ensure adherence to infection control protocols. Your expertise in dental assisting, medical documentation, and technology will help create a welcoming environment for patients of all ages, including pediatric dentistry cases. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in a fast-paced, patient-focused setting. Duties Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following aseptic techniques to maintain infection control standards. Assist dentists chairside during various procedures such as restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while ensuring patient safety and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) like Dentrix or Eaglesoft accurately, including updating patient charts and medical history documentation. Conduct vital signs assessments and medical imaging when necessary to support comprehensive patient care. Support front desk operations by acting as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow efficiently. Educate patients on dental terminology, post-treatment care instructions, and preventive practices to promote oral health awareness. Collaborate in four-handed dentistry techniques with the dentist to improve efficiency and comfort during procedures. Maintain knowledge of anatomy, dental terminology, and medical coding to ensure precise documentation and billing processes. Assist with advanced technology such as 3D scanners for diagnostics or treatment planning in general dentistry or specialized fields like prosthodontics. Qualifications Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant with current licensure in the state or region. Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry procedures. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic is a plus. Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization protocols. Knowledge of dental radiography (X-ray) techniques and ability to operate medical imaging equipment safely. Ability to communicate effectively using dental terminology and medical terminology relevant to patient care. Experience supporting pediatric dentistry cases is highly desirable; familiarity with pediatric-specific equipment is a plus. Demonstrated ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining a positive patient experience.
