In this vital role, you will assist dentists during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the clinic operates smoothly and efficiently. Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly according to infection control protocols. Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing chairside support with precision and care. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology such as 3D scanners while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage patient records accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring all medical documentation is complete and compliant with HIPAA standards. Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure and pulse before procedures, and assist in medical documentation for comprehensive patient care. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care instructions, and answer questions about procedures or dental terminology in a clear, friendly manner. Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist, verifying insurance information, and maintaining organized medical records. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including aseptic technique, anatomy knowledge, and infection control practices. Experience with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and coding procedures accurately. Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical imaging processes to support comprehensive patient care. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while following radiation safety guidelines. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices to provide compassionate care tailored to children's needs. Familiarity with general dentistry procedures across multiple specialties including prosthodontics and endodontics. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members such as dental receptionists and hygienists while delivering exceptional patient service.
