Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant, where your enthusiasm and expertise will help create a positive, efficient, and welcoming environment for patients. In this vital role, you will support our dentist during procedures, manage patient care, and ensure the smooth operation of our dental practice. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will contribute to delivering exceptional dental services while maintaining high standards of infection control and patient safety. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in a fast-paced, patient-centered setting. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary equipment such as X-ray machines and digital scanners, and ensuring all supplies are ready. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient comfort while adhering to HIPAA regulations for medical documentation and records privacy. Provide chairside assistance using four-handed dentistry techniques to increase efficiency and reduce procedure time. Manage patient information within electronic medical records, we use a cloud based system called Oryx, ensuring accuracy in medical coding and documentation. Maintain infection control standards through aseptic techniques, proper sterilization procedures, and adherence to OSHA guidelines. Skills Registered Dental Assistant program completed with license preferred but not required. Proficiency with EMR systems previous, experience with ORYX for managing patient records is a bonus. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Experience with X-ray procedures, including digital imaging and 3D scanning technology. Familiarity with infection control protocols, aseptic technique, and sterilization processes within a dental clinic environment. Ability to perform chairside assisting confidently across various specialties. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure compliance with privacy standards in handling medical records and documentation. Understanding of medical coding practices related to dental procedures for accurate billing and insurance claims processing.
