In this vital role, you will support dentists by preparing treatment areas, assisting during procedures, and ensuring a smooth patient experience. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help foster a welcoming environment while maintaining the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. This position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and more within a vibrant dental practice. Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with aseptic techniques. Assist dentists during various procedures such as restorations, extractions, root canals, prosthodontics, and pediatric treatments by providing chairside support and managing dental materials. Take high-quality X-rays and operate medical imaging equipment like 3D scanners to assist in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Epic, ensuring all medical documentation complies with HIPAA regulations. Monitor vital signs of patients before procedures and provide comfort through effective communication and support. Handle administrative tasks including scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist, updating medical records, and assisting with medical coding for insurance purposes. Maintain infection control standards by practicing proper sterilization techniques and knowledge of anatomy to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Requirements Proven experience working in a dental clinic setting with familiarity in general dentistry procedures. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Epic; experience with Eaglesoft is a plus. Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, infection control protocols, and anatomy knowledge. Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while adhering to safety guidelines. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience assisting with pediatric patients is highly desirable. Certification in dental assisting or related field; additional certifications in radiography or infection control are preferred. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists, hygienists, specialists in prosthodontics or endodontics, and other staff members.
