5,000 with 2-year Commitment No Driver's License is required. License as a Licensed Dental Assistant in the state of Minnesota is required; if not certified/licensed at the time of hire, employee must become certified/licensed within 90 days of hire. Employment is contingent upon this requirement and must maintain certification for duration of employment. CPR certification is required; if not certified/licensed at the time of hire, employee must become certified/licensed within 90 days of hire. Employment is contingent upon this requirement and must maintain certification for duration of employment. Knowledge of computer applications to include word processing, Access, Excel and Microsoft Outlook is required. Knowledge of Native American communities, culture, customs, and beliefs is preferred. Experience working with Native Americans clients, communities and is able to demonstrate cultural sensitivity is preferred. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing is required. Ability to work independently and establish priorities is required. Attention to detail and accuracy is required. Ability to establish professional and harmonious working relationships on all projects and with all parties involved. Subject to drug and alcohol testing in accordance with the Fond du Lac Reservation's Personnel Policies. Subject to pre-employment and annual background checks. Subject to immunization review and submitted proof of required vaccinations. Some travel may be required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Prolonged sitting, with some lifting and walking is required. All employees shall thoroughly wash hands and arms with soap and water before starting work and wash hands during work hours as often as may be required removing soil and contamination as well as after visiting the wash room. Perform all duties as delegated by the Minnesota Board of Dentistry. Review daily schedule direct flow of patients, and complete charting for maximum efficiency. Follow all Infection Control guidelines and sterilization procedures and workflows. Follow occupational safety guidelines for dental office personnel. Update SDS and labeling for hazardous materials as directed by the dental coordinator. Update lists of supplies and equipment needed on supply list. Keep current inventory stocked. Receive and unpack inventory. Clean and organize trays and tubs, operatory drawers, lab, and sterilization. Educate patients on oral health including plaque control instruction, oral appliance care, fluorides, nutrition and diet counseling, and preventive dentistry as designated by the dentist. Perform oral health screenings for community programs as requested and approved by the dentist. Assist dental receptionist as requested. Attend continuing education courses as requested by dental coordinator. Maintain CPR certification. Assist in training of new dental assistants. Abide by the policies set forth by the FDL Reservation and Min No Aya Win Human Services Center. Act on coordinator's request to perform additional related duties as assigned. Department uniform is required and provided to the employee, which must be worn during scheduled work hours unless prior arrangements have been made with management. Must attend all mandatory department trainings. Ensures confidentiality of financial records and all records for employees and/or clients. Displays a responsive and professional manner in promptly responding to all requests, complaints, and problems. Recognizes that each employee is a representative of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and is responsible for demonstrating courtesy, respect, and sensitivity to the needs of all others, including visitors and co-workers. Represents the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and the department in a positive and professional manner in the community. Required to maintain proper attendance including reporting to work on time in accordance with applicable policies. Maintains a clean and organized work area. Due to changes and modifications in the job from time to time, employees are required to be flexible and assume other responsibilities assigned by management as deemed necessary.
