Job Description

Job Summary We're seeking a Dental Assistant and a Dental Hygienist to address staffing shortages at the Red Lake Service Unit. The contractor must provide up to two Dental Assistants and one Dental Hygienist to support clinical dental operations, including patient preparation, instrument sterilization, and EHR documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control protocols are strictly followed Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) and operate 3D scanners for comprehensive diagnosis Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations Perform chairside assisting during procedures, including vital signs measurement and medical imaging documentation Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and acting as a dental receptionist when needed Educate patients on oral health care instructions and post-treatment care Duties Prepare treatment areas with sterilized instruments, ensuring adherence to infection control standards Assist with a variety of dental procedures including restorative, prosthodontic, endodontic, and pediatric treatments Operate dental imaging equipment to capture X-ray images and utilize advanced tools like 3D scanners for precise diagnostics Record detailed medical and dental histories, update medical records, and ensure compliance with HIPAA privacy standards Support the dental team by managing medical documentation, coding procedures accurately for insurance purposes, and maintaining organized patient files Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures clearly and addressing patient concerns professionally Maintain inventory of dental supplies and ensure all equipment is functioning properly Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting with knowledge of general dentistry practices Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic; familiarity with medical coding is a plus Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques Ability to operate X-ray machines safely while adhering to radiation safety guidelines Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices is desirable Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages Certification in Dental Assisting from an accredited program preferred; CPR certification is required Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to dentistry and the ability to support multidisciplinary treatment plans If you are committed to providing compassionate patient care while supporting a collaborative team environment, we encourage you to apply today.
