Orthodontic Dental Assistant NC Pediatric Dentistry aims to provide excellent dental treatment by going beyond the basics to ensure visits are safe, relaxed, informative and fun for children! We are currently seeking a experienced Orthodontic Dental Assistant to join our growing team! •Travel Required•Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our orthodontists. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Duties Assist orthodontists during various procedures, including the placement and adjustment of braces and other orthodontic appliances. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring all instruments and materials are sterile and ready for use. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and care for orthodontic appliances. Take medical imaging as required, ensuring high-quality images for accurate diagnosis. Maintain patient records using dental software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure smooth clinic operations and excellent patient experiences. Monitor inventory levels of dental supplies and assist in ordering when necessary. Requirements Previous experience as an Orthodontic Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic is preferred. Experience with Clear Aligners Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures, particularly in orthodontics and pediatric dentistry. Knowledge of infection control practices in a clinical setting is essential. Proficiency in using dental software such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic is advantageous. Strong communication skills with the ability to interact positively with patients of all ages. Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. A commitment to providing compassionate patient care and maintaining confidentiality according to HIPAA standards.
