Job Description

Benefits:

Hours:
Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week The Dental Assistant II provides care and services to patients by assisting dentists, hygienists and other staff in a variety of patient care, laboratory duties and administrative support. The DA II accurately prepares patients and patient information, including taking and processing x-rays. The DA II may provide services in a fixed clinic, mobile dental facility or in a community-based setting.
Primary Responsibilities:
Chairside assisting in a fixed or community-based sitePatient education Independent work including expanded function duties, coronal polishing, sealants, and pre-procedural consentAccurate and efficient patient record keeping Disinfect and sterilize instruments, surfaces, and equipment in compliance with CDC, OSHA, and agency guidelines
Education/Experience:
Any combination of education and experience that meets Dental Assistant II criteria according to NC State Board of Dental Examiners. Current CPR certification required.
License:
Current driver's license
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Must have excellent customer service and organizational skills Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines Possess ability to work as an effective team member and exercise good judgementMust be flexible and able to shift priorities, establish and maintain effective interpersonal work relationships Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills Thorough knowledge of dental specific CDC and OSHA guidelinesConsiderable knowledge of nitrous oxide administration and vital signs monitoring Strong knowledge of preventative dentistry and ability to instruct patients and staff Our MissionTo improve individual and community health through services, education, and collaborative action.
