Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable, and energetic Dental Assistant II to join our dynamic dental team. In this role, you will provide exceptional chair side assistance, ensuring smooth and efficient patient care in a fast-paced dental environment. Your expertise will support various dental procedures, maintain infection control standards, and foster a welcoming atmosphere for patients of all ages. This position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and other specialized areas while contributing to improved oral health outcomes. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help create a positive patient experience from check-in to check-out. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a wide range of dental procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners are ready for use. Take dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to strict infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical record (EMR) system Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality. Collect vital signs and medical history information to assist in comprehensive patient assessments. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation, and coordinating with the dental receptionist to optimize patient flow. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment by following infection control standards and proper disposal of bio-hazard materials. Demonstrate , anatomy, and medical terminology to effectively communicate with team members and patients. Assist with medical imaging procedures using advanced equipment like 3D scanners when necessary for complex cases or prosthodontic planning. Support pediatric dentistry patients by creating a friendly atmosphere and providing age-appropriate care under the supervision of the dentist. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is required, with familiarity in general dentistry procedures preferred. Proven proficiency in chair side assisting with , infection control practices, and dental assisting protocols. Experience using EMR system Dentrix is highly desirable for efficient documentation management. and medical records management is advantageous for supporting comprehensive patient care documentation. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices, including handling young patients comfortably and effectively communicating with children's families. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners confidently. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security at all times.
