Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant 2, where your expertise will help create a positive and efficient environment for patient care. In this role, you will support dentists and hygienists by providing chairside assistance, managing patient records, and ensuring infection control protocols are meticulously followed. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will contribute to delivering exceptional dental services across a variety of specialties, including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Duties Assist dentists during procedures by preparing treatment rooms, passing instruments, and managing dental materials with precision. Operate dental imaging equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners to capture accurate diagnostic images while adhering to all safety and infection control standards. Maintain and update electronic medical records (EMR systems) like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and Epic with detailed documentation of patient histories, treatment plans, and medical coding. Support the dental reception area by scheduling appointments, verifying patient insurance information, and managing patient flow efficiently. Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality of medical documentation. Perform vital signs assessments and assist with pediatric dentistry procedures using specialized techniques suitable for children. Uphold aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to maintain a sterile environment in accordance with OSHA guidelines. Educate patients about oral health practices and post-treatment care instructions clearly and compassionately. Support the dental team with administrative tasks such as managing medical records, processing insurance claims, and coordinating referrals for specialty care like prosthodontics or endodontics. Assist in general dentistry procedures by preparing materials, taking impressions, and supporting the use of advanced technology including digital X-ray systems and 3D imaging tools. Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic environment with exposure to general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or specialty practices such as prosthodontics or endodontics. Familiarity with EMR systems Eaglesoft, or similar platforms for managing medical records and documentation. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment. Hands-on experience with chairside assisting during various procedures including X-ray imaging and medical imaging techniques. Ability to perform vital signs assessments accurately and support pediatric patients comfortably during treatments. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to medical documentation and patient privacy standards. Experience supporting dental reception duties such as appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and patient communication is highly desirable. $23.00 - $32.00 per hour
