Position Overview:
As a Dental Assistant at Wildberry Pediatric Dentistry, you'll play a hands-on role in helping our doctors deliver exceptional pediatric care. You'll assist chairside during a range of dental and restorative procedures, help keep our patients comfortable, and ensure that our clinical areas run smoothly and safely. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative team, values precision and empathy, and enjoys seeing anxious little ones leave with big, confident smiles.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and comfort patients and families, creating a warm, friendly, and kid-centered environment. Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain strict infection control standards. Assist the dentist chairside with pediatric restorative, preventive, and limited oral surgery procedures. Take high-quality dental radiographs and intraoral images following safety and child comfort protocols. Provide age-appropriate oral hygiene education and post-operative instructions to parents and patients. Record and maintain accurate treatment notes and patient information in the practice management system. Anticipate the dentist's needs during procedures to ensure efficient and smooth appointments. Manage patient flow, ensuring timeliness while maintaining a calm and positive atmosphere. Support behavior guidance techniques to help children feel safe, heard, and cared for. Collaborate with the team to continuously improve clinical systems and processes. Embody the Wildberry Way (PIECO) in every interaction—putting patients first, showing integrity, embracing growth, serving our community, and taking ownership of results.
Required Qualifications:
Current Dental Assistant certification (North Carolina requirements). Current radiology certification and CPR certification . Proven experience as a Dental Assistant, preferably in a pediatric setting Strong understanding of infection control and sterilization standards. Gentle, patient, and confident communication style with children and parents. Ability to remain calm and reassuring in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. Eagerness to learn, grow, and contribute to a team-driven practice.
