In this vital role, you will provide exceptional chairside support during restorative procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety while assisting the dentist with a variety of treatments. Your expertise will help deliver high-quality dental care in a friendly, efficient environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in general and restorative dentistry, including prosthodontics and endodontics, while making a positive impact on patients' oral health. Duties Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and equipment, including 3D scanners and medical imaging tools, to ensure smooth restorative procedures. Assist the dentist during procedures such as crowns, bridges, fillings, implants, and root canals by handing over instruments and managing patient comfort. Operate digital X-ray machines and ensure proper exposure while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Maintain accurate medical documentation and dental records using EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Take vital signs and monitor patient health status before, during, and after treatments to promote safety. Educate patients on post-treatment care, dental terminology, and preventive practices to enhance their understanding of oral health. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist and managing medical coding for insurance purposes. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, infection control, aseptic technique, and anatomy knowledge. Experience with SoftDent preferred Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding related to dental procedures. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and working with pediatric patients in a compassionate manner. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners accurately. Strong understanding of infection control standards within a dental clinic environment. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members like dental receptionists and hygienists.
