As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our dental team and ensuring the efficient operation of our practice. Your responsibilities will include assisting the dentist during patient examinations and treatments, preparing patients for procedures, maintaining dental equipment, and providing excellent patient care. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality dental care.
Requirements:
Certification in dental radiography/X-ray certification prefered. Certificate in coronal polishing prefered. High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of one year of experience working as a dental assistant preferred. CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification preferred. Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Proficiency in computer skills and experience with dental practice management software preferred. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations. Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development.
Responsibilities:
Assist the dentist during dental procedures by handing instruments, suctioning, and providing other chair-side assistance as needed. Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and procedures by ensuring they are clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies. Take and develop dental X-rays as instructed by the dentist. Sterilize and disinfect dental instruments and equipment according to established protocols. Take impressions of patients' teeth for study models or other dental procedures. Provide patients with post-operative instructions and oral hygiene education. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of treatments performed. Schedule patient appointments and assist with billing and insurance processing as needed. Perform basic laboratory duties such as pouring and trimming models, fabricating temporary crowns, and making dental impressions. Assist with front desk duties including answering phones, greeting patients, and managing patient files.
