Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring a smooth operation within the clinic. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, procedures, and patient care techniques. Must be certified in the state of NH to take xrays. Duties Assist the dentist during various procedures, including general dentistry, endodontics, and prosthodontics. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Take and develop X-rays as needed, utilizing knowledge of medical imaging and dental radiography. Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate medical documentation and adherence to HIPAA regulations. Conduct chairside assisting, including preparing instruments and materials for procedures. Monitor and record vital signs of patients before and during treatments. Provide support in pediatric dentistry by creating a welcoming environment for young patients. Assist with the operation of 3D scanners for advanced imaging when required. Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow effectively. Maintain an organized inventory of dental supplies and equipment. Requirements Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred, with familiarity in four-handed dentistry techniques. Proficient knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical records management. Experience with EMR systems such as Epic or Dentrix is highly desirable. Ability to perform basic medical coding and documentation tasks related to patient care. Strong understanding of pediatric dentistry principles is a plus. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
