Job Description

Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chairside assisting, dental procedures, and patient care, with the ability to support a wide range of dental services including general dentistry, prosthodontics, oral surgery, and pediatric dentistry. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic and team oriented environment providing exceptional patient care. You will have access to the most up to date dental technology including the Solea 3.0 dental laser and CEREC same day crown restorations. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during various dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques Place, contour and adjust direct restorations that have been prepped by our dentist Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following aseptic techniques Take and develop X-rays, including 3D scans, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols Record vital signs and medical history accurately in electronic medical records (EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic) Manage medical documentation and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations Provide patient education on oral health, post-operative care, and treatment plans Support dental procedures involving prosthodontics, oral surgery, and pediatric dentistry as needed Maintain infection control standards throughout all clinical activities Assist with medical imaging and other diagnostic procedures Requirements Valid Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification or license Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with proficiency in chairside assisting and dental terminology Familiarity with EMR systems including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic, and other dental practice management software Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols Experience with X-ray procedures, 3D scanners, medical imaging, and vital signs monitoring Strong understanding of anatomy knowledge relevant to dentistry and pediatrics Ability to perform aseptic techniques effectively in a clinical setting Excellent communication skills to interact with patients of all ages, including pediatric patients Ability to work efficiently in general dentistry settings as well as specialized areas such as prosthodontics and endodontics This position provides an excellent opportunity for a motivated dental professional to grow within a supportive team committed to delivering exceptional patient care.
