Full Job Description Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our team. As an Orthodontic Assistant, you will work closely with the orthodontist to provide quality care to our patients. Your main responsibilities will include assisting with procedures, taking X-rays, maintaining infection control protocols, and providing exceptional patient care.
Duties:
  • Assist the orthodontist during procedures and treatments
  • Take and develop X-rays as directed by the orthodontist
  • Maintain aseptic technique and infection control protocols
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient visits
  • Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment
  • Provide chairside assistance during orthodontic procedures
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and care instructions
  • Take accurate patient records, including medical history and vital signs
  • Assist with patient assessment and treatment planning
Experience:
  • Previous experience as an Orthodontic Assistant is preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of dental assisting principles and techniques
  • Familiarity with medical terminology related to orthodontics
  • Proficiency in taking dental X-rays and maintaining radiation safety standards
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy practices
