The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dental assisting, including experience with various dental procedures and familiarity with EMR systems. You will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic while assisting the dentist and providing support to patients. Duties Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and maintain dental instruments, equipment, and treatment areas following infection control protocols. Take and develop X-rays, including medical imaging as required. Manage patient records, ensuring all medical documentation is accurate and compliant with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions. Schedule appointments and manage the dental reception area as needed. Perform vital signs checks and assist with pediatric dentistry when necessary. Utilize dental software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing patient information and treatment plans. Support various specialties including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, aseptic techniques, and infection control standards. Requirements Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred. Proficiency in EMR systems; experience with Eaglesoft or Dentrix is a plus. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation practices. Familiarity with chairside assisting techniques and 3D scanning technology is advantageous. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control measures. Ability to perform basic medical coding and maintain accurate medical records. Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and comfort. Certification in dental assisting or relevant qualifications is preferred but not mandatory.
