Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic dental team as an Experienced Dental Assistant and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and support. In this energetic and fast-paced environment, you will assist dentists during a variety of procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and safety. Your expertise in dental assisting, combined with your knowledge of advanced dental technology and systems, will help create a welcoming atmosphere where patients feel cared for and confident in their treatment journey. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly using aseptic techniques. Assist dentists chairside during various procedures including restorations, root canals, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments. Take high-quality X-ray images and operate advanced imaging equipment such as 3D scanners to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Perform vital signs assessments and medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care, especially for pediatric patients or those with complex medical histories. Educate patients on treatment procedures, post-care instructions, and dental terminology to foster understanding and comfort throughout their visit. Support administrative duties such as scheduling appointments with a dental receptionist mindset, verifying insurance information, and managing medical coding for billing purposes. Maintain infection control standards by following protocols for aseptic technique and ensuring the clinic's compliance with OSHA regulations. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic environment with proficiency in chairside assisting across general dentistry disciplines. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic; experience with medical imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners preferred. Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while adhering to safety standards; certification in radiography is highly desirable. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and experience working with pediatric patients is a plus. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and explain complex procedures clearly. Ability to work efficiently in four-handed dentistry setups alongside dentists to optimize patient flow. Certification in CPR or basic life support (BLS) is required; additional certifications related to infection control or specialized dental fields are advantageous.
