Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Dental Assistant/Receptionist, where you'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring smooth clinic operations. This energetic position combines front desk responsibilities with clinical support, creating a lively and engaging environment. You will be the friendly face greeting patients, managing appointments, verifying insurance, and assisting with dental procedures. Your multitasking skills and attention to detail will help foster a positive experience for every patient while supporting the clinical team with essential administrative and clinical duties. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, check them in and out, and manage appointment scheduling using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Verify insurance coverage, process claims, and handle billing using systems like Meditech, Epic, or Athenahealth to ensure accurate medical billing and coding (including
CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10
) Assist dental providers during procedures by preparing instruments, taking digital radiographs, and maintaining sterilization protocols Manage patient records efficiently within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy Answer multi-line phone systems professionally, schedule appointments, confirm patient visits, and handle inquiries with excellent phone etiquette Perform administrative tasks such as filing medical records, updating care plans, reviewing documentation for accuracy, and managing office supplies Conduct insurance verification and explain treatment plans clearly to patients while providing exceptional customer service in a bilingual capacity if applicable Experience Prior clinic or dental office experience is highly preferred; familiarity with dental terminology and medical coding (ICD-10/ICD-9) is a plus Demonstrated proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or eClinicalWorks; experience with Meditech or Epic is advantageous Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), typing (10 key), and health information management software Excellent patient service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and clerical experience in front desk or medical receptionist roles Knowledge of insurance processes including verification, claims submission, Medicare guidelines, and HIPAA compliance Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy Join us to be part of a vibrant team committed to delivering outstanding dental care!
