Join Scotch Plains Fanwood Dental Care as an Orthodontic Assistant and be an integral part of our dedicated team! In this exciting role, you'll assist in providing top-notch orthodontic care to our patients, ensuring they leave with beautiful smiles. patients receiving treatments like braces or aligners. Prepare patients for treatment and assist orthodontists during bonding, wire adjustments, and bracket repairs.Direct Patient Care :
Perform routine adjustments, such as changing archwires, ligatures (elastic bands), and springs.Diagnostic Support :
Take intraoral X-rays, digital scans (like iTero), and physical molds or impressions for treatment planning.Sterilization & Setup :
Ensure all orthodontic instruments are properly sterilized and that treatment rooms are stocked and ready for each appointment.Patient Education :
Instruct patients on proper oral hygiene, how to care for their appliances, and what to do in case of emergencies like a broken wire.Essential Skills Technical Proficiency :
Deep knowledge of orthodontic anatomy, terminology, and tools, as well as the ability to operate imaging equipment.Manual Dexterity :
High level of hand-eye coordination for the precise placement of small orthodontic components in a patient's mouth.Strong Communication :
Ability to build rapport with patients (often children and teens) and explain complex procedures in simple terms.Organization & Multitasking :
Skill in managing multiple chairside tasks and keeping a fast-paced clinical schedule on track. Betterteam +4Common Qualifications Education :
