Orthodontic Assistant

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our boutique, fee for service, orthodontic office. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support during orthodontic procedures. You will assist the orthodontist in various tasks, ensuring a smooth workflow and a positive experience for our patients. Duties Assist the orthodontist during patient examinations and treatments, including the placement and adjustment of braces and other orthodontic appliances. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are sterilized and ready for use. Perform X-ray procedures as needed, adhering to safety protocols and guidelines. Utilize dental software for scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and documenting treatment plans. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care related to orthodontics. Operate 3D scanners for imaging purposes, assisting in the creation of custom orthodontic appliances. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and privacy. Collaborate with other dental staff to provide high-quality care in general dentistry as needed. Qualifications Previous experience in dental assisting or a related field is preferred, with a strong understanding of dental terminology. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members. A commitment to maintaining a clean, organized work environment while adhering to safety standards.
