Periodontal Dental Assistant

Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following strict infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques. Assist dentists during periodontal procedures such as scaling, root planing, and surgical interventions with precision and confidence. Take dental radiographs (X-rays), including 3D scans, ensuring accurate positioning and patient comfort. Monitor vital signs and medical history of patients prior to procedures, maintaining thorough medical documentation throughout treatment. Educate patients on periodontal health, post-operative care, and proper oral hygiene practices to promote long-term oral wellness. Support the dental reception team by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and assisting with general administrative duties as needed. Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting, preferably with a focus on periodontics or general dentistry. Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, and dental assisting best practices. Hands-on experience with chairside assisting during periodontal procedures and other specialty treatments such as prosthodontics or endodontics. Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures aligned with OSHA guidelines. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners confidently.
