Duties Assist dentists with chairside procedures across general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry specialties. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental materials, and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology such as 3D scanners while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols. Manage patient records accurately within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems like Open Dental, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA standards. Support patients by taking vital signs, reviewing medical histories, and explaining procedures in clear dental terminology to foster comfort and understanding. Maintain a clean and organized clinic environment following aseptic techniques and infection control guidelines. Collaborate with team members including dental receptionists to coordinate appointments and ensure seamless patient flow using practice management software like Epic. Qualifications Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting with knowledge of dental assisting procedures and terminology. Proficiency in EMR systems; familiarity with medical coding and documentation is a plus. Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, anatomy knowledge, and medical imaging including X-ray procedures. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during various dental treatments Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly using dental terminology and support pediatric dentistry patients when needed. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security at all times.
