Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and become a vital part of delivering exceptional oral healthcare! In this energetic role, you will support dentists and hygienists by providing chairside assistance, managing patient care, and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental practice. Your expertise will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable and confident in their treatment. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly according to infection control standards. Assist dentists during procedures such as exams, cleanings, restorations, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments with precision and efficiency. Take dental X-rays using digital imaging technology including 3D scanners, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed. Take impressions to use for records, temporary crowns, dentures, etc. Manage patient records by updating medical history, documenting treatment details in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) using Dentrix Ascend while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, taking vital signs, and addressing questions to foster a comfortable experience. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and answering phones. Uphold strict infection control practices through aseptic techniques and proper handling of medical documentation to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Experience Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred; familiarity with general dentistry procedures is essential. Proficiency with dental assisting duties including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and understanding dental terminology is required. Knowledge of EMR systems such as Dentrix or Dentrix Ascend. Understanding of HIPAA regulations, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques is necessary to ensure compliance and patient safety. Experience working with pediatric patients or in pediatric dentistry enhances your ability to provide tailored care for children. Effective communication, both written and verbal, to communicate with patients and staff Strong knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, dental terminology, and medical coding ensures accurate documentation and effective communication within the team. Pay:
$20.00 - $23.00 per hour
