Your expertise in chairside assisting, infection control, and patient communication will contribute to a positive patient experience and efficient workflow. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontic treatments, and prosthodontics with precision and care. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), including intraoral and extraoral images, while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage patient records efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; document treatment details accurately and update medical documentation regularly. Perform vital signs assessment and medical imaging as needed to support comprehensive patient care, especially in pediatrics and general dentistry cases. Support front desk operations by acting as a dental receptionist—answering patient inquiries, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing medical records. Maintain infection control standards through proper sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Assist with medical coding related to dental procedures to ensure accurate billing and insurance claims processing. Support the use of advanced technology such as 3D scanners for prosthodontics or orthodontic planning when applicable. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care instructions, and the importance of routine dental visits. Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting with familiarity in general dentistry procedures. Hands-on experience with EMR systems like Softdent or Dentrix Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques Knowledge of X-ray safety protocols and proficiency in taking high-quality radiographs (intraoral and extraoral). Familiarity with medical terminology related to dentistry and the ability to support complex cases involving endodontics or prosthodontics. Ability to work effectively in four-handed dentistry setups—collaborating seamlessly with dentists for efficient patient care—while maintaining excellent chairside assisting skills.
