In this energetic and fast-paced role, you will support our hygienist and dentists (as needed) by preparing treatment areas, assisting during procedures, and ensuring the highest standards of infection control and patient comfort. Your proactive approach will help create a welcoming environment that promotes oral health and positive patient experiences. You may be asked to help out in the front when needed, being computer literate and having professional phone skills are a must. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in general dentistry, and advanced dental procedures while working alongside a dedicated team committed to excellence. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental instruments, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with aseptic technique and infection control protocols. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care instructions, and explain procedures using clear dental terminology to foster understanding and comfort. Take and mount digital radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper positioning and safety measures are followed to protect patient health. Manage medical documentation by accurately recording vital signs, medical history, dental terminology, and treatment details using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, updating medical records , and assisting the front with patient check-in/out processes including payment processing, coordinating referrals and entry level duties like scanning, shredding etc. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment by adhering to infection control standards and managing supplies efficiently. Experience Previous experience working in a dental setting is highly preferred, especially with general dentistry or specialized fields like prosthodontics or endodontics. Familiarity with dental assisting techniques such as four-handed dentistry, chairside assisting, taking vital signs, and dental imaging is essential. Understanding of HIPAA regulations related to medical records management ensures compliance with privacy standards. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively using dental terminology while providing compassionate patient care in a busy environment. Certification or training in X-ray safety, infection control practices, anatomy knowledge related to dentistry, is advantageous for success in this position.
