Job Summary Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care! In this energetic and rewarding position, you will support dentists in providing comprehensive dental treatments, ensuring smooth clinic operations, and creating a welcoming environment for patients of all ages. Your expertise in dental procedures, infection control, and patient communication will help us maintain the highest standards of oral health care. Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring efficient workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, maintaining aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to ensure patient safety. Take dental X-rays Manage patient intake by recording vital signs, medical history, and updating medical documentation while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Support the dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and handling administrative tasks with professionalism and efficiency. Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of dental tools and equipment following strict infection control standards. Assist with medical coding and documentation to ensure accurate billing and record keeping within Epic or other health information systems. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with Epic is a plus. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic technique. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety standards. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, team members, and healthcare providers. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and experience working with pediatric patients is highly desirable. Certification in dental assisting or relevant training; additional certifications in medical terminology or medical coding are advantageous.
