Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with infection control protocols. Assist dentists during various procedures such as cleanings, restorations, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments. Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging technology, including 3D scanners when applicable. Manage patient records by updating medical history, documenting procedures accurately in electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide chairside assistance through four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort levels before, during, and after treatments. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, greeting patients as a dental receptionist, and managing medical documentation and records. Skills Proficiency with EMR systems including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for accurate medical documentation. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times. Experience with dental imaging techniques including X-ray procedures and 3D scanning technology. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently in general dentistry settings as well as specialized areas like prosthodontics or endodontics. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and working with pediatric patients is a plus. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members such as dental receptionists and other healthcare professionals.
